Description
Budget desktop label printer – successor to the Zebra GC420t
The Zebra ZD220t prints via ribbon (thermal transfer). It prints at 203 dpi at up to 102 mm/s with a print width of 104 mm and connects to a computer via USB. It handles 1D and 2D barcodes, labels, receipts, tags and identification wristbands. The manufacturer recommends it for transport, logistics, retail and healthcare.
What the printer can do
- Thermal transfer, 203 dpi (8 dots/mm), up to 102 mm/s
- Print width up to 104 mm, media width 25.4–112 mm, label length up to 991 mm
- Rolls with an outer diameter of up to 127 mm, core 12.7 and 25.4 mm (with adapters up to 76.2 mm)
- Ribbon 74 m, width 33.8–109.2 mm, core 12.7 mm

Simple operation
The printer is controlled with a single feed and pause button, and its status is shown by one LED indicator. Installation via USB is quick and the printer is ready to print straight away. The Print DNA software on the Link-OS Basic platform helps with setup and management.
Ribbons, media and parts
For thermal transfer, the printer needs a ribbon 74 m long on a 12.7 mm core, in a width of 33.8–109.2 mm. The manufacturer's specifications match, for example, the Zebra 2300 wax ribbon 64 mm × 74 m, the Zebra 2300 wax ribbon 84 mm × 74 m or the more durable Zebra 5095 resin ribbon 84 mm × 74 m. From spare parts we offer a platen roller for the ZD220/ZD230. The direct thermal version without a ribbon is available as the Zebra ZD220d.
