The new EdgeMAX product line consists of gigabit managed PoE+ switches. They are distinguished by high performance (26/70Gbps non-blocking throughput) together with advanced L2/L3 functions. Intelligent PoE is available. By default, active PoE according to 802.3af/at is enabled; if passive PoE (24V) is needed, it can be configured manually (ON/OFF 24V on each port). SFP slots are also available for connection to the backbone network. The 24-port version offers two 1Gbps SFP ports, and the 48-port version additionally adds two SFP+ slots (10Gbps). Configuration can be performed as standard via a web browser; the environment is very user-friendly and intuitive. For advanced users, a CLI
(command-line interface) is also available via telnet or secure SSH.
The maximum PoE+ output is 34.2W/port; with passive PoE it is 17W.
