Gigabit Multi-Mode media converter
The MC200CM is a media converter designed to convert media from 1000BASE-SX optical cabling to 10/100/1000Base-T metallic cabling and vice versa. The MC200CM media converter, designed according to the IEEE802.3ab 10/100/1000Base-T standards, is intended for use with multi-mode optical cable with an SC type connector. The MC200CM media converter supports the short-wavelength laser (SX) specification at maximum packet forwarding rate. It uses a wavelength of 850 nm for both receiving and sending data.
Other features of this module include the option to be used as a standalone device (no chassis required) or with a TP-LINK 19' chassis, automatic MDI/MDI-X detection for the TX port, and status LED indicators on the front panel. The MC200CM module supports data transmission over multi-mode optical cable up to a distance of 0.55 km.
