SAFE 10YDCO – RF is a carbon monoxide alarm that boasts a timeless compact design and the combination of the latest hardware and software technology applied in the functional construction of an intelligent detector, representing a new standard level in fire safety for residential buildings.
Wireless communication in the FireSafe network
The alarm includes an integrated RF module which, thanks to the CONNECTED function, allows two or more FireSafe alarms to be wirelessly interconnected, creating a mutually linked wireless network. If one of the devices then triggers an alarm, it transmits a radio signal and all other FireSafe system units connected in the network will also respond to the alarm.
FireSafe system with central control unit
The intelligent central control unit Hub FireSafe can be added to the wireless network. Thanks to its internet connection, these units allow convenient setup and control of the complete FireSafe system, including remotely, via the intuitive free mobile application of the same name (for Android and iOS) designed for smartphones, tablets and other devices. The Hub monitors the operation of all connected FireSAFE CONNECTED sensors and devices and, if a danger is detected, immediately informs the system user by means of an alarm and alarm push notifications in the FireSAFE application.
Alarm signalling of a potentially dangerous carbon monoxide level
If, during detection, the CO concentration reaches a set threshold, the detector triggers a loud acoustic alarm signal of 85 dB, accompanied by flashing of the red LED indicator to signal a carbon monoxide alarm, while the current measured CO concentration is displayed on the blue-backlit detector display. The purpose is to deliberately draw the attention of people in the building, using a high noise level and intense LED signalling, to the fact that a potential danger is developing in some part of the building. The purpose of the CO alarm is to enable an immediate response to the alarm event or the evacuation of people from the site of the emergency to a safe zone.
Environmental display function
The backlit multifunction LCD display shows the current measured CO concentration in ppm during alarm mode, while in standby mode it alternately shows the current room temperature and humidity information in the monitored space, enabling a response to dangerously low or high humidity or temperature conditions. The temperature display can be set according to preference in degrees Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F).
If the alarm is part of a fire safety system with the intelligent central control unit Hub FireSafe, individual data (battery status, room temperature and air humidity, CO alarm information) are also displayed in the free FireSafe mobile application on your mobile phone or device.
Unique device construction with IZOVAX protection
The combination of battery power and the detector housing design allows installation by placing the device in an optimal position on a horizontal surface. As a result, fixed wall mounting of the carbon monoxide alarm is not required; it can be placed (set down) variably and freely on horizontal surfaces such as shelves, bedside tables, window sills or other flat surfaces. The electronic components and printed circuit board of the detector are coated with an insulating and protective layer of varnish with IZOVAX nanoparticles, protecting the device's electronics even in very humid environments. The device can therefore be placed or installed, for example, in bathrooms with a shower, near a gas boiler, in boiler rooms, dryers and similar locations.
Peak value memory
The SAFE 10YDCO – RF carbon monoxide alarm features a peak value memory function. The memory records information about the highest measured CO concentration even while you are absent. By pressing the combined TEST/HUSH button, you can call up and display on the LCD screen this information concerning the highest measured levels since the last memory reset.
Temporary alarm hush function
If the detector registers a threshold concentration of carbon monoxide, it triggers warning signalling to activate the alarm. In the event of unwanted audible alarm signalling, it can be temporarily hushed by pressing the TEST/HUSH button or directly in the FireSafe application (when the alarm is added to the wireless network that includes the intelligent central control unit Hub FireSafe) for up to 9 minutes. The temporary hush mode is signalled by the device with the red LED indicator, which flashes 4 times every 5 seconds in a regularly repeating interval without accompanying buzzer sound. If the CO concentration subsequently drops below the predetermined values, the detector automatically returns to normal operating mode.
Guaranteed operating performance for a full decade
Power is supplied by an integrated 3 V lithium battery (built-in, non-replaceable) guaranteeing exceptionally long operation of the detector for more than 10 years. Battery operation enables quick and easy installation and ensures proper functioning of the carbon monoxide alarm for more than 10 years from activation. The power battery is activated by pulling out the locking tab on the back of the device. After 10 years of protection, and with 30 days' advance notice, the detector will announce the end of its service life and automatically alert you that it needs to be replaced. The extended 10-year warranty applies to both the battery and the device itself.
