Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
Uninterruptible power supplies from 400 VA for a home router and NAS up to rack units of several kVA for server rooms. Line-interactive models bridge an outage and smooth mains fluctuations; online (double-conversion) UPSs protect sensitive equipment continuously. Filter by capacity, number of outlets and tower or rack form factor; replacement batteries and network management cards are here too.

- How strong a UPS do I need?
- Add up the power draw of the devices to protect and multiply by 1.5. For an office PC with a monitor a 600 to 850 VA UPS is enough, for a gaming build or a small server 1 000 to 1 500 VA. The wattage is lower than the VA figure, we list it for every UPS.
- What is the difference between offline, line-interactive and online UPS?
- An offline UPS switches to battery only at a blackout and suits a home PC. Line-interactive also corrects voltage fluctuations and is the most common for offices and NAS. An online UPS powers devices from the inverter continuously, with no switchover, and is meant for servers and sensitive equipment.
- How long does a UPS battery last and can it be replaced?
- A UPS battery usually lasts 3 to 5 years, after which backup time shortens. On most models it can be replaced, spare batteries are on the UPS batteries shelf. Send us the UPS model and we will advise.
