Power banks
Power banks, from slim magnetic models that snap onto an iPhone to 20,000–40,000 mAh units with USB-C Power Delivery output of 100 W and more for laptops. Many charge wirelessly via Qi2 and MagSafe or have a built-in cable or stand, and some sets add a solar panel. Filter by capacity, output power, number of ports and weight; brands include Belkin, Sandberg, Epico, Xiaomi and Viking.

Frequently asked questions
- Which power bank capacity should I choose?
- A 10,000 mAh power bank charges an ordinary phone about twice, 20,000 mAh four times or a tablet once. In practice you get about 60 to 70 % of the stated capacity; the rest is lost in voltage conversion. For a laptop you need 20,000 mAh or more with a USB-C Power Delivery output of at least 60 W.
- Can I take a power bank on a plane?
- Yes, but only in hand luggage; power banks are not allowed in checked baggage. Up to 100 Wh (roughly 27,000 mAh) there is no restriction; from 100 to 160 Wh you need the airline's approval. We state the capacity in Wh in the specifications, and the manufacturer prints it on the power bank itself.
- Why does the power bank charge the phone slowly?
- The speed is set by the weakest link: the power bank output, the cable and the phone. For fast charging the power bank must support Power Delivery or Quick Charge with at least 18 to 20 W, the cable must be USB-C and the phone must use the same standard. Charging two devices at once splits the power.
