- Laser or inkjet printer?
- A laser printer is fast, prints sharp text and its toner does not dry out, good for an office and occasional printing. An inkjet wins for photos and colour graphics. At hundreds of pages a month a laser with original toners costs less per page.
- How much does one page cost?
- Cost per page is the toner price divided by its yield. For mono lasers it is commonly 0.3 to 1 CZK with an original and less with a compatible toner, for colour lasers 1.5 to 4 CZK per colour page. When choosing, count the price of a replacement toner set, on cheap printers it is often higher than the printer itself.
- Does the printer come with a starter toner?
- Yes, a new printer includes a toner, often with a lower yield than a retail cartridge (starter). The maker states its yield in the specifications. Replacement cartridges for the model are in the Printer supplies finder.
