Frequently asked questions
- A large-format display or a TV?
- A professional display is built for 16 to 24 hours of operation a day, with a metal chassis, burn-in protection and often a built-in player or computer (SoC, OPS slot). A TV is cheaper but designed for a few hours a day, and its manufacturer does not cover continuous operation. For a meeting room, shop or reception we recommend a display rated 16/7 or 24/7.
- What display size for a meeting room?
- A rule of thumb: the diagonal in inches is roughly the distance to the farthest viewer in metres times 12 to 15. A room for up to 6 people is fine with 55 to 65 inches; 10 to 15 people need 75 to 86 inches. 4K resolution is standard today and on an interactive board it also makes handwriting more legible.
- What is an interactive board and what do I need with it?
- It is a touch display with a built-in system that you write on with a finger or pen and share a laptop or phone screen to without a cable. The built-in system covers meetings; for Windows applications a computer module goes into the OPS slot. Plan for a wall mount or a mobile stand, and check its load rating against the display weight, over 60 kg at 86 inches.
- How do I connect and control the display?
- The usual inputs are HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C, and on interactive boards also USB for touch from a connected computer. Displays with signage software are managed remotely over the network (LAN or Wi-Fi), with content loaded from the cloud or a USB stick. Check the connector positions before buying: with a flat wall mount the cables must run sideways or downwards.
