Frequently asked questions

Which HDMI cable for 4K and 8K?
For 4K at 60 Hz a cable marked Premium High Speed (HDMI 2.0, 18 Gb/s) is enough. For 4K at 120 Hz, 8K or current-generation game consoles you need Ultra High Speed (HDMI 2.1, 48 Gb/s). The marking is in the specifications; a 4K label on the box alone is not enough.
How long can an HDMI cable be and still work?
An ordinary copper cable carries 4K reliably up to 5 m and Full HD up to 10 to 15 m. For longer runs, for example to a projector, choose an active or optical HDMI cable (AOC), which manages 20 to 50 m; with an optical cable mind the direction, the ends are marked Source and Display.
What are HDMI ARC and eARC?
ARC (Audio Return Channel) sends sound from the TV back to a soundbar or receiver over the same HDMI cable. eARC in HDMI 2.1 also carries uncompressed surround sound. Both devices must be connected to the port marked ARC or eARC, and for eARC we recommend an Ultra High Speed cable.
