Frequently asked questions

Air cooler or liquid cooling?
A good tower cooler handles even powerful processors, costs less and has no pump that could fail. Liquid cooling (AIO) with a 240 to 360 mm radiator cools the most powerful processors more quietly and frees the space around the socket. For processors up to 65 W the boxed cooler is enough.
Does the cooler fit my socket?
The cooler's specifications list supported sockets, for example LGA1700, LGA1851, AM4 and AM5. Some older coolers need a mounting kit from the maker for LGA1700 or AM5. The configurator offers only coolers that fit the chosen processor.
Will the cooler fit in the case and over the memory?
Compare the cooler height with the maximum cooler height the case maker states. Wide tower coolers can reach over the first memory slot, so modules with tall heat spreaders do not fit. For builds from our Písek workshop we verify the dimensions before assembly.
Do I need thermal paste?
Most coolers include paste or come pre-applied. When replacing a cooler or after a few years of use, remove the old paste and apply fresh, it improves temperatures by a few degrees. Pastes and cleaners are on the Tools and workshop shelf.
